چکیده
Results from the USDA:APHIS:VS National Animal Health Monitoring System (NAHMS) Dairy 2002 survey reported that approximately 5% of dairy cows die, on-farm, across the country each year. This is a very high death rate compared with that of beef cows or feedlot animals, where annual death rates were estimated at 1 to1.5%. In the NAHMS survey unknown reasons accounted for the largest percentage (20%) of producer reported dairy cow deaths, followed by calving difficulty problems (17%), mastitis (17%), and lameness or injury (14%).

Variations of Infant and Under-five Child Mortality Rates around the World, the Role of Human Development Index (HDI)
Background: The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite statistic of life expectancy, education, and income per capita indicators, which apart from measuring the socio-economic development of countries can predict health outcomes. The current study aimed at determination of the effects of HDI individual components on infant and child mortality. Materials and Methods: At a cross- sectional ...

The growth and mortality coefficient of Rutilus frisii kutum, were estimated using length frequency data collected in southern waters of the Caspian Sea during October 2008 to April 2009. The following population parameters were evaluated: length-weight relationship, W = 0.004L 3.258, (r= 0.976) Von Bertalanffy growth constants, W∞ (g) = 4192.3, L∞ (cm) = 70.45, K = 0.2, per year t0 = −0.75 tot...

This paper presents the results of study on age, growth, mortality rates and yield-per-recruit of Beluga (Huso huso) living in Caspian Sea. The mean length of successive years, mortality rates and yield-per-recruit studies indicated that at present the resource is under heavy fishing pressure. For the female Beluga growth was regarded as comprising of three stages, and the von Bertalanffy param...
